A brief overview of us!

At Trenethick, we are essentially an ORGANIC beef and arable farm, demonstrating strong links with equestrianism.  We are serious about our horses, both at the purely fun level as well as competitively, with horses having been on the farm for over twenty years.

The Carpenter family have farmed at Trenethick since 1760.  In 1999, John Carpenter made the decision to farm organically and now has fully converted status.  We fully believe this has had a positive effect on all of the stock grazing, as nature intended, on the farm - the evidence of which is apparent in the condition and temperament of both horses and cattle.

Amanda Hammond, currently aiming towards her BHSPTC, competes regularly, in all disciplines, with her talented ID/TB mare, Crystal, as well as on occasions, Gordon, her neighbour's thoroughbred gelding.  She is also a member of the Cornwall Dressage Group.

Crystal and Amanda hunted throughout the 2004/05 season with the East Cornwall Hunt, taking them over Bodmin moor and surrounding areas.  2005/06 was the turn of Amanda's four year old, Hugo.

John and Amanda both like to see people enjoying their horses and are willing to help with any problems that may arise.  For most of our liveries, horses are a hobby which should, of course, be a pleasure.
